Living Digital in Campania

The Ansa News Agency has just published an article on Internet usage in Italy: "In 2018, 54.8 million Italian have used the Internet, 11 million more than in 2017. This is 92% of the population. There are 35 million individuals (59% of Italians, ca. 6/10) who are active on social media and, of these, 31 million are connected via smartphones." The data is sourced from the We Are Social "Digital 2019" Report.

These figures, however, do not provide us with information either on the quality of Internet use or on the users’ digital competences. Does surfing the Internet automatically mean these individuals have the digital competences required by the labour market? Students in Naples will learn about this today.

Programme Living Digital travels to Campania, today, and will hold the first course at IIS Francesco Saverio Nitti in Naples on three modules:  innovation, cybersecurity and web presence.

The interactive activities, involving over 120 students, will be held by Lara Forgione, Coach at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym, and Vito Verrastro, freelance journalist, founder of the Lavoradio format and author of the Generazione Boomerang Project and book.
