New technology is a fundamental tool for adult education. They improve teaching and learning processes, modify mental paradigms and simplify the acquisition of active and proactive behaviour.
Registration is now open for the final seminar of Project “IDEAL - Integrating Digital Education in Adult Literacy” (Erasmus+), which will be held in Rome on Friday, May 12 at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym (Via del Quadraro, 9:00 am – 2:30 pm). The seminar is a unique opportunity to learn how to efficiently use digital tools and methodologies to improve the quality of adult education in any context.
The objective of the seminar is to share the results of Project IDEAL: practical tools and strategies to integrate innovative digital methodologies with adult education activities.
The seminar targets:
- Teaches and trainers working in adult education and/or professional training
- Operators and volunteers working with vulnerable adults (immigrants, unemployed, individuals with special needs or learning disabilities, etc.)
- Representatives of agencies and institutions that work in the adult education sector and that promote integration
- Individuals interested in digital methodologies and adult education
The keynote speaker will be Terry Maguire, professor and manager, who is currently coordinating a national initiative in Ireland to promote the development of digital skills amongst teachers and students at all educational levels.
Professor Maguire has also created Developing Maths Eyes and participates actively in the International Adult Learning Mathematics Forum. She is currently the Director of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

Project IDEAL – Integrating Digital Education in Adult Literacy is a strategic partnership financed by the Erasmus+ Programme. The main target group is professors and trainers working with disadvantaged categories and adults at risk of exclusion. Six European member states participate in the project, coordinated by Luksia, Western Uusimaa Municipal Education and Training Consortium (Finland).
