The Fondazione Mondo Digitale will participate in the Milan Digital Week, a platform of events promoted by the  City of Milan (March 15-18) with a vast programme of initiatives  held in collaboration with large IT sector companies. The objective is to involve students in a training relay that will allow them to learn more about the professional profiles that are emerging in the technology sector, understand new market segments and develop transversal digital competences required by companies.

This new important milestone confirms the strategic presence of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in Lombardy. In fact, in 2017, over 6000 students were invovled in 10 projects to step up the role of schools in digital transformation.

On Thursday, March 15 (9.30 am) the Tim Space will host a workshop on “Olivetti and Educational Robotics,” a lab to discover making and coding with 3D Desk Printers and the O|Robot Kit. This will be followed by a digital art lab at the headquarters of Epson Italia and a robotics workshop with the Cloud Professor Kit at Acer. In the afternoon, students will turn to 5G and immersive reality at Ericsson.

On March16, the training tour will continue with IoT Labs at Cisco, while other students will experiment with the Google Computer Science First Platform at Google with Roberta Cocco, Digital Transformation and Civic Services Councillor for the City of Milan.

A specific focus will be dedicated to women and technology. On March 15, the appointment is with Pink Cloud, the Microsoft programme designed to attract young women to STEAM subjects. On March 16, Facebook will host the first training session in Milan for Project #SheMeansBusiness to promote women in enterprise.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale will take  its Milan experience to Europe with the All Digital Week Campaign (March 19-25) promoted by All Digital, the organisation that represents the most important European networks operating with new technologies. In particular, the campaign addresses the commitment of agencies, institution, organisations and research centres promoting digital competences, especially amongst young men and women.

Together with Ervet, the Regione Emilia Romagna, and other national partners of this European initiative, along with prestigious organisations such as Stati Generali dell’Innovazione and Aica, will host a number of workshops in Italy to promote digital innovation. All the events and workshops that will be organized in Italy are listed at: alldigitalweek.eu.
