First came International recognition, then prominence in Italy. Even the Corriere della Sera recently dedicated an article to her entitled From Brianza to the UN - an Italian Founds a "Social Facebook". Finally, Selene, 26 years old, is starting to become known in Italy, too. Her last public appeareance was at the beginning of February, in Milan, at the annual Futuro@lfemminile convention promoted by Microsoft Italia together with Acer.
Selene Biffi began to put her idea into practice in 2005 with an annual budget of 150 euro she created the Youth Action for Change platform, a sort of social peer-to-peer network, to connect youth all over the world working on development projects and reach the Millennium Objectives. The project now involves over 130 different countries, especially developing countries, and collaborates with many international organisations, including the United Nations, FAO, Unesco, the World Bank, Amnesty International and Aegee.
