Located in the suburbs of Rome, the Circolo Didattico Iqbal Masih has a long tradition of reception and cooperation both locally and with the countries of origin of its young students. Moreover, it sparked the formation of a multi-ethnic choir, which has been active since 2002, to unite “the many vocal experiences reflected locally.”
During the course of the past years, the Se...sta Voce choir has performed various times throughout Italy. At the inauguration of the current school year, the choir also performer for the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano.
Their first CD, which has just been released by Ediesse, presents a small selection of their vast repertory that continues to expand with songs from around the world. The song which gives the CD its title, Words Don't Know Me, was inspired by a school experience: Hassan arriving in third grade when the school year had already started. For a long time, Hassan was silent. Then, his first assignment, completed with a handful of phrases turned into the lyrics for this song…

For the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, The multi-ethnic choir performed for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale at the Thematic Weeks held at the Città educativa in Rome. The 126th Circolo Didattico Iqbal Masih also participated in the Global Junior Challenge and was selected as a finalist with We Remember Iqbal Masih - Communication and Cooperation with Pakistani Friends.
