It’s like making a memory come to life, miraculously, on the screen …

3D reality as seen by Somalis, Columbians and Afghanis is rapidly taking the form of familiar typical and local products. The excitement and awe of concrete – and possibly unexpected – results make the three and a half hour lesson fly away. The fifth lesson of the course was held on Friday 13th.

The laboratory activities are coordinated by Prof. Maurizio Pierantozzi of the Itis Einstein, who has already successfully introduced dozens of students to the interdisciplinary use of multimedia reality. The 3D Graphics Course held at the foremost Roman School for multimedia communication is attended by seven young guests of the Centro Enea, five boys (two Afghanis, a Columbian, two Somalis and a Moroccan) and two Somali girls.

This initiative is one of the many activities that the Fondazione Mondo Digitale has designed for asylum seekers and refugees hosted by the “second level” multi-purpose structure created by the Municipality of Rome and the Ministry of the Interior. This facility provides young people with the opportunity to familiarise with the city and its cultural and social dimensions, by meeting students and teachers in schools distinguished for their didactic excellence.
