PHD Italia will participate in the fourth edition of the Diversity Media Awards with Project "AIWomen” that will also be published as a book by Egea. The fourth edition of the DMAs, conceived and promoted by non-profit Diversity, are a recognition of diversity in media.

 

Developed with the objective of stimulating and amplifying the contribution of women to innovation and fighting the gender gap in terms of representation, visibility and authority, the editorial project developed by the Omnicom Media Group - a media, communications and marketing agency - is based on a series of exclusive interviews with female protagonists working in science and technology on topics including artificial intelligence, robotics, data science, machine learning from a research, enterprise, finance, communications and educational point of view.

 

The protagonists include Chiara Burberi, co-founder and CEO of Redooc; Silvia Ferrari, Director of the LISC (Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Controls) at Cornell University; Cecilia Laschi, Professor of Industrial Bioengineering at the Institue of BioRoboticss at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa; Federica Gregori, co-founder of MetaLiquid; Valeria Cagnina, co-founder and mentor of OFpassiON; Eleonora Carta, co-founder and CEO of The Energy Audit; Barbara Caputo, Senior Researcher at the Italian Technology institute and Professor at the Turin Polytechnic; Francesca Rossi, AI Ethics Global Leader IBM Research; Cristina Pozzi, CEO of Impactscool; Benedetta Arese Lucini, founder and CEO of Oval Money and Rita Cucchiara, Director of the National CINI Laboratory (National Interuniversity Consortium for Computer Science) AIIS (Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems).

 

The project that will now also become a book, published by Egea and edited by Alessandro Lacovara (Managing Director, PHD Italia) and Marialuisa Pezzali (Radio 24, Il Sole 24 Ore). The book will be available in bookshops beginning on June 6, 2019 and will be distributed at the Diversity Media Awards that will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at a gala event at the Alcatraz in Milan.

 

All profits from the sale of the book will be given to the Fondazione Mondo Digitale (FMD) that works for an inclusive knowledge society and promotes the exchange of knowledge, innovation and social inclusion with a particular focus on categories at risk of exclusion.
