Immigration - A Prize for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale

Today, at Palazzo San Macuto, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, Fondazione Migrantes and Roma Multietnica received awards from the President of the Fondazione Roma Mediterraneo, Emmanuele Emanuele. A silver plaque was presented in recognition of the integration culture promoted in Italy. The prize was awarded at the end of the 3-day workshop on “Immigration and Citizenship” promoted by the Fondazione Roma Mediterraneo and the Associazione Investire in Cultura (AIC).

Tullio de Mauro accepted the award on behalf of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. Prof. de Mauro has guided the foundation since its creation as an “efficient synergy between public agencies and large technology enterprises.” If Prof. Emeritus Tullio de Mauro “has spent a lifetime teaching Italians to speak Italian,” as AIC President Angelo Guarino pointed out, he has also put the same effort towards the digital literacy of all those categories at risk of exclusion: from foreigners to elders.
