On the eve of World Refugee Day, promoted by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), the Fondazione Mondo Digitale has organized the fourth edition of the “I’m There” football game with the patronage of the American Embassy. The game will be inaugurated by Carlotta Sami, UNHCR Speaker for Southern Europe.

The football match will be held on Wednesday June 19 at 5 pm at the Centro sportivo dell’Istituto Santa Mariain Rome (via Matteo Boiardo 28). The Fondazione Mondo Digitale promotes the “I’m There” football match every year to mark World Refugee Day, an event created by the General Assembly of the United Nations.
This year’s edition features a number of novelties: from the data on integration presented by the Centro studi e ricerche Idosto the extraction o a solidarity prize dedicated to the audience present at the event. The new web radio of the Liceo Kennedy in Rome will cover the event from the sidelines.
The matches kick off with a three-way meet for young children and will be followed by the main game between young refugees from the welcome centre in Rome and Roman students.
The young footballers from the Scuola di Calcio Santa Maria-Visnova, the Arsenal FootBall Club and the Spes Mentana will open the event with a three-way meet that will help introduce young children to the challenge of integration through sports without frontiers.
Then, the main match will face off Roman students with young refugees from SPRAR Welcome Centres throughout Rome. The Makers from the FMD’s Phyrtual Innovation Gym will also participate. The matches will be refereed by Federica, Andrea and Fabrizio from the Italian Referee Association (Associazione Italiana Arbitri) and the Italian Football Association (Federazione Italiana Gioco Calcio).
The event, which has the patronage of the American Embassy, will also be attended by theCentro studi e ricerche IDOSand the Liberi Nantes Football Club, the first football team composed of forced migration victims, and Shoot For Change, a platform that brings together photographers, artists and designers to improve people’s lives.
