How to tackle the educational challenge posed by the ageing European population?

Is it possible to identify specific methodologies to improve the knowledge and competences of adults? The Grundtvig Project attempts to answers these questions and poses a number of specific objectives:

  • Improve the quality and access to mobility, at the European level, for adult education operators and increase their numbers in order to allow the mobility of no less than 7000 individuals by 2013
  • Improve the quality and increase the volume of cooperation amongst the organisations involved in adult education in Europe
  • Assist subjects belonging to vulnerable social groups and marginal contexts with particular attention to those individuals who have interrupted their education without having obtained basic qualifications so that they may find alternative opportunities in accessing adult education
  • Facilitate the development and diffusion of innovative practices in the context of adult education, including dissemination between member states
  • Promote the development of innovative contents based on ITC, services, pedagogic methodologies and learning practices throughout the course of an individual’s life
  • Improve pedagogic approaches and the management of the organisations involved in adult education.
