Debora, 18, has no doubts: "I’ll teach Mrs. Carmelina insegno io!" She chose the eldest student, who is seventy years older than her, whom she admires. They adopted each other, in fact, immediately agreeing to embark on this new adventure together.
How are classes formed? How are students and tutors matched? Anna Maria, 73, describes it perfectly. She has worked with numbers for years, as an accountant, now she has discovered the magic off words and has dedicated a poem to “Grandparents On-line” entitled "Dai nonni adottati."
We are at IIS Carlo Rosselli in Genoa, the school managed by Headmistress Miria Luigina Carpaneto, for the kick-off of Project Grandparents On-line, promoted by Poste Italiane. Let’s meet the protagonists, starting with the new students, through these interviews conducted by Cecilia Stajano [@CStajano], School Innovation Coordinator and Project Manager for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
Life begins again every day for Carmelina, 88 years old.
Maria Ida, 67, was a literature teacher for many years and has returned to school as a student thanks to “Grandparents On-line. Everyone’s Young at the Post Office.” Denise is her tutor.
Mrs. Anna Maria, 76, has never used a computer, but is familiar with tablets. However, she only uses it to read. Will Carola manage to teach her to use it for on-line services?
