The Milan Expo will host the final leg of the Global Youth Startup Awards 2015, promoted by Hype in collaboration with EMGI and other international partners to encourage youth enterprise and promote innovation in school.
Five finalists from five countries (USA, Israel, Montenegro, Romania and Italy) will compete for the in the “Innovation for the Elderly” category.
Italy will be represented by the IIS Carlo e Nello Rosselli School from Aprilia (Latina), directed by Headmaster Viviana Bombonati, with the “Handy Hand” Project, a robotic prosthesis that will help individuals with motor disabilities by emulating the movements of a real hand.
The project is part of Programme Meet No Neet, promoted by da Microsoft and Fondazione Mondo Digitale to diffuse the skills necessary for youth to enter the working world.
The Youth Startup Competition Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 27, from 5 to 8 pm at the Israeli Pavilion, Milan Expo. The five finalist teams will present their innovation and social inclusion project to entrepreneurs and stakeholders who will evaluate the project and proclaim the best entrepreneurial idea.
