The second phase of European Project Inclusive Senior Education through Virtual U3A (ISEV) involves students and over-65 in an original course. Some of the lessons are held in the Digital Manufacturing Lab at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym. Francesca Meini interviewed some of the protagonists who explain how the course works.
Franco, 78, a former public manager, first experienced digital manufacturing thanks to the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. He participated in developing a high-tech racket, a simple project with a great value!
Luigi, 74, a former insurance salesman, describes his experience at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale’s Fab Lab. Together with other over-60s, he was introduced by young i-tutors to new devices with which they produced an original game bringing together tradition and innovation.

The objective of Project ISEV, implemented as part of the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships for Adult Education Programme, is to make education available to elders by eliminating barriers and adapting activities to their needs: learning independently from their residence, health conditions, and social, family or financial conditions.
The “transformative” intergenerational learning model developed by the Fondazione Mondo digitale during the course of Projects Grandparents on the Internet, The Knowledge Volunteers, The Italian Makers, Network of Knowledge Volunteers, is integrated into Project ISEV with the consolidated experiences of other European partners in the area of adult learning.
