Training sessions have begun for the children whose parents participated in the meetings organised by Generations On-line as part of Project Computer Science First. The activities are organised for children pre-adolescents and adolescents (ages: 8-16).

Introduction to the concept of coding and block coding. Presentation of the CS First Platform and introduction to the modules with a particular focus on videogames.
April 27, 16-18 | Developing Our Videogame
Part one: guided creation, starting from a pre-developed base, of a platform-style videogame. Evolution of videogames over history.
May 5, 16-18 | Developing Our Videogame
Part two: creation and definition of game levels. Addition of custom-tailored details to define eras and fundamental phases of the game.
May 11, 16-18 | Role Modelling
Meeting with an expert. Clearing doubts and curiosities on the development of videogames. Debate on the role of computer science and technology in the world.

April 19, 16-18 | Working in Computer Science
Overview of the professional figures working in software houses dedicated to videogames. Introduction to CS First and Scratch. Types of videogames.
April 26, 16-18 | Creating a Videogame
Live experiment on the creation of a simple videogame, based on the skills and interests of the students, on the CS First Platform with Scratch – sprites, scenarios, music and additional functions – developed with block coding.
May 5, 16-18 | Creating a Videogame
Focusing on game dynamics (controlling how characters collide, game levels, etc.)
May 10, 16-18 | Creating a Videogame
Tests and finishing touches; Q&A session; end of project.
