The Istituto comprensivo Via Motta Camastra has begun raising funds to install a digital manufacturing lab at the school that will be developed with help from the staff at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, coordinated by Mauro Del Santo.
The initial “shopping list” includes:
- Laser cutter
- 3D Printer
- Design software
- Materials (wood and plastics)
The school has started raising funds today on the schoolrasing platform. The campaign kicks off today at 12.45 with a small event at the school with families and local citizens.
Here is the message that the promoters of this initiative, coordinated by Prof. Fabio Silei, have published on their Facebook page:
With the help of staff from the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, we will create our laboratory with students, beginning with the creation of a structure to hold all our tools and materials. Our first task will be to build all the necessary furnishings in our new workshop. Our lab will be open to everyone during the afternoon to involve the families of students and exploit their skills and allow everyone who wishes to test their talent and manual skills to have a go. For this, and many other reasons, we invite you to help us out with a donation on the www.schoolraising.it crowdfunding platform, beginning today. Stay tuned!
