Even Fashion is Inclusive

Due to the ongoing health emergency the Digital Made. For Young Fashion Talents Contest had to respect the regulations on physical distancing. The virtual catwalk for 25 finalist projects was held as part of the PowWow Fashion Tech Week (May 18-20, 2021) [see news: Innovation in Fashion].

 

Yesterday, after the evaluation of the jury, the winners of the third edition were proclaimed for each category, and the first-place prize was assigned:

 

 

Nell'evento di ieri, dopo le valutazioni della giuria, sono stati proclamati i vincitori della terza edizione per le diverse categorie e assegnato il primo premio.

 

 

  WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY CATEGORY

 

Witsense con LOveWEAR – an inclusive project conceived for people who live with a serious limitation of everyday activities. It investigates the possibility of acting autonomously with one’s sexual sphere.

The project was awarded a workshop with the Fabricademy to be selected from amongst wearable technology, biomaterials, patternmaking and soft robotics courses held by international experts from Fabricademy, starting in September 2021. Provided by Fabricademy.

 

 

 

  DIGITAL FABRICATION CATEGORY

 

Zer Era with Zer Collection – the work team developed a product using a range of digital manufacturing techniques to develop clothing without producing any waste.

The project was awarded a 30-hour digital tailoring course at the Dama Academy in Milan. Provided by Damacademy.

 

 

 

  BIOMATERIAL CATEGORY

 

Future Wardrobe (Spain) – the project moulds biotechnology and fashion, investigating and conducting research on new materials starting with the cultivation of micro-algae.  

The project will become part of a design and experimentation project by Studio Elitre and obtain credit for it at the end of the project. Provided by Studio Elitre.

 

 

 

  ABSOLUTE WINNER

 

Felipe Fiallo with We Go Far 2022 – a collection of sneakers made with a range of techniques and materials, digital manufacturing, biology and sustainability.

The project wins a €1000 award provided by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

 

 

The final event, conducted by Matteo Viscogliosi, was also attended by:

Project Digital Made is coordinated by Matteo Viscogliosi, designer, maker and Coordinator of the Fab Lab at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym.
