Discovering the Brain

The Neuroscience Olympics are the local and national phases of the International Brain Bee, an international competition for high school students (aged 13-19) to assess their knowledge of neuroscience. The competition addresses intelligence, memory, emotions, stress, ageing, sleep and nervous system diseases, amongst other topics.

 

The main objective of the competition, promoted by the Italian Society of Neuroscience, is to promote interest in biology and the study of the structure and operation of the human brain, our most complex organ.

 

The 2017 Neuroscience Olympics has three phases:

 

Phase 1 – local (Feb. 17, 2017) – the competition will take place in schools throughout the region to select the 5 best students.

 

Phase 2 – regional (Feb. 18, 2017) – the competition will take place in Rome to select the 3 best students from each region.

 

Phase 3 – national (May 5-6, 2017) – the competition will take place in Catania, where the winner will receive a scholarship to represent Itlay at the International Competition that will be held in Washington DC (USA) on August 3-6, 2017 during the Conference of the American Psychological Association.

 

To participate, school must register by November 30, 2016 using the this registration form.
