Not even one month after the conference hosted by the Lazio Region to present the new phase of the Digital Bridge Project, an Italian delegation is on the ground in Fontem, Cameroon, to meet the people and listen to their problems.
The Lazio Region delegate will visit schools and evaluate the operation of the installed satellite transmission system. M. De Simone will be assisted by Engineer Cesare Borin who has been in charge of state-of-the-art logistics on behalf of Amu. In Fontem, in fact, the satellite transmission system and the local wi-fi networks have been designed to operate in the extreme climactic conditions present the region of Lebialem. The infrastructures were chosen on the basis of their solidity, modularity, recyclability and sustainable development.
Mr. De Simone will also meet the Director General of the Lebialem Education Division, Mr. Nazarus Ndobegand, Headmaster of the GBHS High School, leading school in the cultural exchange project with Italian schools and Ms. Marianna Kinyui, Italian language teacher at Fontem.
The Digital Bridge Project is financed by the Lazio Region and coordinated by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. For the first time, this year, students from Lazio, Cameroon and Saharawi, will attend the same learning environment and design a portal for community development with an interactive forum to discuss issues concerning cooperation and integration.
In this way, satellite connections and local networks bring the objective of universal instruction closer to reality.
