Digital Bridge: Lazio Region Schools

Digital Bridge: Lazio Region Schools

Technology is a fantastic tool; Councillor Michelangeli explains the new project phases.

The Digital Bridge Project is actively underway. The students of Lazio, Cameroon and Western Saharawi are united in an international cooperation project. The initiative, which is financed by the Region and coordinated by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, will allow students from Lazio, Cameroon and Saharawi to attend the same learning environment and design a portal for community development with a strong interactive and dynamic forum on cooperation and integration issues.

Listen to the address by Lazio Region Councillor Mario Michelangeli.

"There is still a long path to walk in order to allow Cameroon and the Saharawi territory to join the world of communication,” Councillor Michelangeli pointed out at the press conference held on October 8th at the Lazio Region headquarters, “but this type of experience proves that information technology is a key sector for a society that strives to be in charge of its own destiny.”

The Councillor added that “reducing the digital divide with non-industrialised countries is key to providing citizens with a key tool for economic and social development.”
