Amongst the candidatures to the Speciale Tullio De Mauro Award for the tenth edition of the Global Junior Challenge, there’s that of Rocco Giuseppe Tassone, Professor of Natural Sciences at IIS G. Verace in Cittanova (Calabria). “Prof Rocco” is a special and well-known teacher in the community who conducts an intense cultural activity and is a prolific writer.

 

In 2003, thanks to an award request forwarded by his students to then Italian President Azeglio Ciampi, the professor received the title of Knight of the Italian Republic

 

In this short selfie video, Prof. Rocco summarizes his view of teaching and learning based on the “sentiment of curiosity.”

 

 

The deadline for submissions to the International Global Junior Challenge is May 31, 2021. The GJC is promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with the Centro Studi Erickson. The 10th edition will focus on the use of new technology for quality, universal education during the emergency, Objective 4 of the Agenda 2030, declined for the Covid-19 pandemic. The Special Tullio De Mauro Award is dedicated to innovating teachers and administrators.
