Constitution, Immigration and Integration

Figures show that the phenomenon of migration is growing increasingly significant in Italy. This affects every level from the demographic to the legislative spheres. At present, immigrants constitute 5.8% of the Italian population and produce nearly 10% of the GDP. In 2007, 38,000 foreigners obtained Italian citizenship. In this context, the Italian language is a fundamental tool to gain knowledge and learn about each other.

The heart of this convention and debate promoted by the Società Dante Alighieri will be the round table that will be introduced by linguist Tullio De Mauro, Professor Emeritus at the La Sapienza University of Rome and President of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. The round table will feature the participation of sector experts and authorities.
