Civic Challenge in Brindisi

Civic Challenge in Brindisi

Civic Challenge in Brindisi

The Councillorship for Tourism, Local Marketing and Creativity of the City of Brindisi is launching the third Civic Challenge, following those held in Rome and Rovigo [see news: Made in Rome and Civic Challenge in Rovigo].

Local actors work on identifying ideas for the requalification and promotion of a specific city area in which to co-design urban regeneration activities and attract both the community and tourism.

The area addressed by this challenge is Piazzale delle Catene, the park that overlooks the sea by the city port. How can this park be transformed in to an artistic and cultural hub open to the community? How can this public area be reactivated through local marketing actions to attract new visitors?

The first part of the event will be a plenary session on Friday, December 17 (5:00-6:30 pm) that will be streamed live on the Facebook Binario F Channel.

The work group will be held (proximate) on Saturday, December 18 with a visit to Piazzale delle Catene (9:00 am) and a co-design session at Palazzo Guerrieri starting at 10:00 am.

The work group, which will be facilitated by Archistart, will include representatives of the local administration, third sector agencies, professionals, experts, enterprises, second-degree secondary school students and citizens. The work group will develop a preliminary project for requalifying the area that will be submitted to the local administration for its development.

To participate in the plenary session and work group, please register on Eventbrite (limited seating available).

The Civic Challenges are promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Facebook Italia and developed for Binario F as part of Programme Vagone FMD. Da 01 a 100. Six Challenge involves six Italian municipalities to co-develop local digital transformation and the post-pandemic recovery of the social and productive systems. The challenges launched by the public administrations will be faced by public and private agencies, third sector organisations and citizens through co-development sessions to identify priorities, innovative ideas and drive civic participation. Upon completion of six challenges, a summary document will illustrate the proposals advanced by local actors to drive a participated and collective vision for the recovery of the entire country.
