The future took place in Rome on March 20-22. The RomeCup 2013 – Excellence in Robotics in Rome was a very successful edition with lots of novelties and surprises.
 
These include the first Italian competitions in the Cospace Theatre category and the launch of the first LEIS (Lego Education Innovation Studio) in Rome. More than 30 schools from 12 Italian regions competed in the event that also featured: 20 laboratories for students and workshops on innovative didactics for teachers, 3 conferences on robotics, the future, the job market and development, as well as thirty cases of excellence in the showcase area. Moreover, the last day featured the Jobot Matching Day bringing together students, companies and universities.

RomeCup 2013:
 
  • 2000 students participated in the activities
  • 300 teachers were involved
  • 96 teams competed from 37 schools from 12 Italian regions
  • 20 didactic laboratories organized per age groups (6-19) in various subject areas
  • 32 exhibiters in the showcase area with all types of robots
  • 3 conferences on robotics with speakers from the worlds of academia, enterprise and government
  • 3 workshops for innovative didactics for teachers and school administrators
