15 Municipalities Fight the Digital Divide

15 Municipalities Fight the Digital Divide

In order to spread digital literacy to the population of over sixties, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale has formed a new alliance with the Distretto socio assistenziale A, a district that includes 15 municipalities in the Province of Frosinone with a total of over 90.000 residents. The Municiaplities include Alatri as the lead partner together with Acuto, Alatri, Anagni, Collepardo, Filettino, Fiuggi, Guarcino, Paliano, Piglio, Serrone, Sgurgola, Torre Cajetani, Trevi Nel Lazio, Trivigliano and Vico nel Lazio.

The Partnership Agreement, signed on August 5th, entails the organization of digital literacy courses for the elderly residents of these 15 municipalities based on the successful Grandparents on the Internet model. The courses will take place in the computer labs of schools and, as usual, students coordinated by teachers will tutor the senior citizens.

The district has already issued requests to all the schools in the area to start the courses.
