For the launch of the seventh edition of Coding Girls, we experimented with a new format entitled "Out of Quota Stories" to present the silent route journeyed by young women who serve the community [see news: A Gentle Revolution].

 

Today, we share with you this short interview with Vittoria Colizza, Director of the “Le labò des Italiens” at the High Institute of Research and Health in Paris. The interview was conducted by two young students at the Liceo scientifico Amedeo Avogadro in Rome.

 

Fourty-one-year-old Vittoria, who is also from Rome and a former student at the Liceo Avogadro. She graduated with a degree in Theoretical Physics from Sapienza University of Rome and then moved to Paris where she studies scientific models for epidemics. As a theoretical physicist, Vittoria describes herself as a lover of complexity. In the video, she thanks the professors at her high school for having taught her how to think critically.

 

- "How can we contribute to changing the world like you do every day?" asked one student.

 

- "I don’t think I’ll change the world, but I can help to inform people better so that they can take the decisions that will have a positive impact on our world,” answers Vittoria.
