It’s Easier with an App

Twelve years ago, activities kicked off at the "Casa delle culture e delle generazioni," an elderly social centre and a cultural and recreative reference point for the entire area in Rome’s 5th District (Municipio V) an area that has the greatest number of over-60 residents, about 6000, who participate in the activities of the 16 elderly centres in the district.

Last Tuesday, the centre hosted a training session in presence for over-60s on “Apps to Improve Our Lives.” The session was held by Andrea Santoro, who helped the elders to understand how to operate popular smartphone applications.

We now use WhatsApp to communicate with friends and relatives. You need to use an App to skip the queue at the post office and you need a digital identity to interact with the public administration … The apps on our smartphones improve our lives. They allow us to access useful services and save time. How do they work? Are we sure we know how to fully exploit them?
