The webinar, which will be held today from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, is organised as part of the Virtual Reality Contest - Life Science, promoted by the Regione Lazio and organised by Lazio Innova and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, in collaboration with Comau. The virtual challenge calls on researchers, start-uppers, makers, expert educators and university students who wish to provide their contribution to the health emergency.

During the webinar, the promoting partners will debate the role of technology for the management, containment and day-to-day cohabitation with Covid-19. From data analysis to the development of forecast models, to e-Health devices for remote monitoring and the identification of fake news to guarantee a correct access to information. If on the one hand, artificial intelligence and robotics can come to our aid, on the other, there is a clear need to design and adopt fair and ethical innovative solutions capable of reducing all new forms of inequality and block the serious risk of exclusion that can arise from a rapid digitalization.

The live talk moderated by Michela Michilli (Lazio Innova) will address two only apparently distant issues: the theoretical and operative experience of one of the foremost international robotics experts, Arturo Baroncelli (Comau), with the vision of Alfonso Molina (Fondazione Mondo Digitale), Personal Chair in Technology Strategy at the University of Edinburgh, where he taught for over 20 years.

The three main issues that will be addressed by the talk focus on the role of technology during the emergency and the objective of a challenge to stay closer to people through “community technology.”
