A new educational and orientation project for schools promoted by the Johnson & Johnson Foundation
H4U is an educational and orientation project for university and professional careers promoted by the Johnson & Johnson Foundation, focusing on health, wellbeing and life sciences. The project was developed within the European Commission’s 2009 “Strategic Framework for Cooperation in Education and Training” that was recently adopted by Italy with the PCTO Programme (formerly ASL) and the development of work experience in schools (Jobs Act, 15/05/2015).
H4U was created in 2017 as part of the Johnson & Johnson Bridge to Employment global initiative to encourage and support students aged 3:00-6:00 in pursuing their studies in health and medical professions. H4U has already held a pilot course for 250 students in the Province of Rome.
For the new 2020-21 edition, the J&J Foundation will be collaborating with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to transform the programme into a digital edition.
SCHOOLS
The project addresses students in second-degree secondary schools in all Italian regions, but with a special attention on regions hosting a Johnson & Johnson office.
OBJECTIVES
- University orientation with a focus on clinical and biomedical sectors
- Training on careers of the future
- Development of soft skills
- Awareness-raising on gender equality in STEAM
- Focus on the importance of STEAM in the working world
- Promotion of a culture of health, prevention and well-being
EDUCATION AND CHALLENGES
The course will be held as a 14-module webinar. Each programme module addresses:
- Soft skills for university and professional careers
- Health prevention and promotion.
The project kicks off with “Module Zero” to present the course and the partners and share the objectives of H4U and the complete course programme.
