The Champions’ Headmaster

“I am very proud to head this school and am enormously satisfied along with the entire school community to have become World Robotics Champions for the second time in a row. This is an extraordinary team that is supported by the entire school.”

These are the words used by Headmaster Carlo Cipollone of IIS Galileo Galilei, the school that helped Team Spqr grow and clinch the second world title at RoboCup in the Soccer Light Weight Secondary Category in China after last year’s victory in Brazil [see news Champions Take Two].

Headmaster Carlo describes the secret of his school to Francesca Del Duca - it’s “humble grandeur” – along with his vision of a solidary educational system.

The last agreement signed by the school was with the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital, where they will equip a ludic area with robotics and domotics activities, too.

“What is not perceived from the outside and may only seem a grand victory for us is part of the value of studies and student application,” explains Carlo Cipollone. "We like to inspire our students to do their best to improve the world.”

The Headmaster ends the interview by dedicating the victory “to all those who work day in and day out to give their best and help those most in need.”

The Galileo Galilei School is a great example of a school that has succeeded in integrating the Life Education Model (knowledge, skills and values).
