The Die is Cast!

Starting with the study of the museum merchandising category, 15 young men and women looking for employment participated in Atelier ABC and developed a board game. Here are the first available images of "Alea Iacta Est," produced entirely through digital manufacturing processes at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym.

"Using Trajan’s Market as an inspiration, the group develop a game that could attract both citizens and tourists,” explains Irene Caretti, designer and maker, who supervised the workgroup at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym Fab Lab.

“Following a careful study of the conditions of life and habits in Ancient Rome, the group developed the idea based on the famous Game of the Goose. The original game also includes interesting historical facts,” continues Irene. “Then, thanks to rapid prototyping processes, we developed the board with a laser cutter and produced the pawns with 3D printing techniques” – as well as the box, as shown in the photographs.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale is a partner of Project "Free Course on Cultural Marketing Technician,” promoted with the Ro.Ma. Consortium and the “Gema” Business School, which aims to train a new generation of cultural marketing specialists who will be able to support all organisations, agencies and enterprises operating in the arts and culture sectors. The course is funded by the "Atelier Arte Bellezza Cultura Roma" Regione Lazio Call.

The course includes a variety of activities (orientation, master class, work experience, contests, etc.) to train cultural marketing technicians whose profiles fit the regional competences requirements in Lazio.

The course will be attended by 15 young men and women, with high school diplomas or university degrees, who are currently unemployed and have been residents of the Regione Lazio for at least six months.
