The props and stands for RomeCup 2018, hosted by the Rome Campus Bio-Medico University,  were designed and developed at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym’s Digital Manufacturing Lab.

The props and stands have been developed as 20x20 cm white cardboard modules that can be assembled together to create three-dimensional structures. In total, there are 7500 modules that can be put together to create stands, totems and decorative objects. The showcases were developed with the same technique, but in wood, to provide greater strength.

The work was supervised by Fab Lab Coordinator Matteo Viscogliosi, a designer and maker. Gabriele De Nicola, Daniele Vigo, Marzia Lupi, Gaia Stirpe, Lavinia Franceschini, Irene Caretti, and Dominique Burrafato collaborated on developing the modules, while Adrienn Savsari, Giorgia Fioretti, Giorgia Tomasi, Martina Virgili and Guglielmo Lisi assembled them.

Even the original staff badges were designed and produced at the Fab Lab by Ilaria La Manna, architect, designer and maker.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale stand at RomeCup will also showcase Draw Bot, a designer robot developed by Computer Engineer Francisco Perito.

Activities at the  Phyrtual Innovation Gym are coordinated by Cecilia Stajano, Fondazione Mondo Digitale Community Coordinator and School Innovation Manager.
