On Tuesday, January 16, at 10 am, the Fabrizio Giovenale Library (Cia Fermo Corni) will present the first maker Space in a public roman library, a joint project between the Goethe-Institut Rom and Biblioteche di Roma organised by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

BiblioMakers, the new creativity centre for all citizens, which includes digital manufacturing tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, cutting plotters and soldering irons, will transform the library into a making area, a factory for ideas, to promote the culture of innovation and sharing through activities and labs for schools, families, young men and women and all citizens.

The Deputy Mayor (and Councillor for Cultural Development) of Rome, Luca Bergamo, and Roma Semplice Councillor Flavia Marzano will be present at the inauguration.

The new area will be presented by the President of “Biblioteche di Roma” Paolo Fallai, the director of the Goethe-Institut Rom, Gabriele KreUter-Lenz, and the Director General of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, Mirta Michilli.

The description of the first digital manufacturing experience in a library will be provided by the Istituto comprensivo Giovanni Palombini’s Head Master and many young makers.
