Inclusive Hackathon

The second edition of the Digital Heart Award, a solidarity marathon promoted by the “Cuore Digitale” Association in collaboration with the Italian Union for the Blind, aims to develop a prototype for visual disabilities with the best digital talents. The inclusive hackathon will be held in Rome (Sala del Giubileo, Rome Jubilee Press Point, Via dei Penitenzieri 14).

 

The hackathon kicks off today at 9 am. The teams include programmers, makers, coaches and designers from the rich FMD Community.

September 29 (9.00 am – 7.00 pm)

● 9.00 am – Welcome and Registration

● 9.30 am – Intro by Cuore Digitale, UICI, Institutions and Partners.

● 10.00 am – Works begin

● 1.30 pm – Buffet

● 2.30 pm – Institutional Visits

● 7.00 pm – Day one ends

 

September 30 (9.00 am – 7.00 pm)

● 9.00 am – Participants arrive

● 9.30 am – Works open

● 1.30 pm – Buffet

● 3.00 pm – Jury visits team tables

● 3.45 pm – Work on projects ends

● 4.00 pm – Ceremony opens -  Cuore Digitale, UICI, Institutions

● 4.30 pm – Project presentation and voting

● 5.30 pm – Partner speeches and Jury Remarks

● 6.30 pm – Proclamation of winner and Awards Ceremony

● 7.00 pm – Day two ends

 

A course on the development of apps for blind and visually-impaired individuals will be held thanks to the support of the IBM Foundation,

 

Digital Heart Award 2016 - Hackathon for Visual Disabilities has the patronage of the Italian Senate, Roma Capitale, University of Tor Vergata and “Roma per il Giubileo.” Award partners include: Intel, Link Campus University, Ricoh, BCC Roma, Eurizon, Pegaso Università Teleamtatica, Techsoup Italia, Fiaba Onlus, Fondazione Mondo Digitale, RomaMakers, Elis and IBM Foundation.
