  PROJECT PROFILE

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale is working side by side with Microsoft and young men and women to drive the country’s growth. A national programme of initiatives with various partners and a focus on artificial intelligence.

CONTEXT

The development of artificial intelligence will contribute to the growth of the Italian economy with 135,000 new jobs in the ICT sector by 2020. This means a 12% increase in labour by 2035 and gross added value (+15% GDP). School plays a crucial role, but it is necessary to accelerate the education of both students and teachers with introductory and advanced courses, especially in areas with fewer resources. Indeed, artificial intelligence will also provide solutions for the great social emergencies.

CHALLENGE

The Ambizione Italia ecosystem project is to reach 2 million young Italian men and women by 2020 and support their education so they may stay abreast of technological innovation and artificial intelligence.

SCHOOL PROJECT

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale will help schools provide digital culture to promote the inclusive transformation of the country through a wide range of activities that will enrich the specific knowledge of students and teachers concerning computer science (CS) and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as the development of strategic competences such as empathy, creativity, communication, and attention to diversity.
